Homemade Playdough

Amelia Bedelia makes Banana Bread

First you add the flour, then the whole wheat flour.
Stir it up!
Adding sugar to the softened butter
Stir again. I added molasses too because it was supposed to be brown sugar but we didn't have any.
Squeezing thawed frozen bananas out of the peel.
She was so proud of herself!
Adding the bananas to the mixture
Careful! It's really full!
Taste testing the chocolate chips...
Ready for the oven!
Watching them bake.
No final product picture yet, they are still baking!

A Sorting Invitation

I mixed a bunch of animals, snap beads, and dolls on the floor and put their containers near by.
Amelia seemed to know what to do right away.
Here is the result after they got bored. I didn't do any of this.
Sorting in action.

The cousins are at it again.

Dueling Books (see video below)
From my perspective
Apples and Peanut Butter!
It's a race!
Amelia is working hard to save the Donkey from the flood while Tristan evenly disperses the colored pencils.

Mouse!

In case you didn't know, every colored page of Goodnight Moon has a mouse on it somewhere. Amelia loves to flip through and point out the mouse on each page. She also decided that the rocker is her new favorite seat and can get up there herself.

Empty

Amelia has figured out the concept of empty. She knows when her cup is empty (and can say the word quite well). She dumps all the snap beads out of her bucket and declares it "eh-tee". She drains her sippy cup and hands it to me saying "eh-tee" to ask for more. She even tosses a toy in an empty box and then shakes her head "no" as to say, "it's not empty anymore".
She has also all but stopped nursing. So needless to say, my supply has mostly dried up. The other day she was lying in bed with me and wanted to nurse. She took a few sips, pointed to my boob, and said "eh-tee". Bright girl.

Ever wonder how much joy costs?

Daddy Daughter Time

Amelia loves her daddy. She squeals "DADA" when he comes into the room, she looks for him all day long while he's at work, and she thinks he is in every car that drives by. The other morning she even wanted to be with him more than me before he went to work. They read some books and took a little walk today (I was there too but didn't really count).

Fun in the Sun with the Gramps

Grammy and Grampy came to visit last weekend. All Amelia wanted to do is play "Oww-sie"...which is what she always wants to do lately.
Walking to the Gelato place down the street...mmmmm...
We had to force feed her to get her to try ice cream...then she wanted more.

BabyDoll

Amelia does everything to her BabyDoll that we do to her. She dresses her, diapers her, feeds her bottles, and occasionally throws her out of the crib...oh wait, we don't do that. Tonight, (the soft, plush, not waterproof) BabyDoll even got a bath. Oops.

Sunny Days....

Kettle Cove adventure with Lily and Tristan.
Ready to conquer the world!
Mmm...Jalepeno Cheddar chips...
It's hard to get a good shot of this one, she is always on the go!
Chasing away the seagull that was trying to steal her goldfish.
She drinks water like a runner, squish the cup and slam it back
The towel around her neck didn't help at all.
Off she goes again, it's going to be a great summer.
I knew it was a little too quiet...(she is signing "water" by the way, it has recently moved up onto her nose...)
