Our latest sleep problem...

The worst part is, Amelia sat here watching this video with me and LAUGHED!

Teeth!

Amelia sprouted two teeth on the bottom in the beginning of June and has popped out 4 on the top since then. However, it's almost impossible to take pictures of teeth, until now. Amelia loves copying me when I say "Da" or "Ba", both of which show off her teeth. So, after about 30 photos of her closed mouth, I finally got them!

9 Months!!!

Amelia is 9-months-old today. In order to sound super cliche: I can't believe we've had this extra addition to our family for 3/4 of a year. It seems like she has been with us forever. Cliches come from truth you know.
This month Amelia is crawling up a storm...she's getting faster every day and I have to keep a close eye on her now. She loves the cat food so we've started our first trial at "no". She looks confused and laughs most of the time...
She is also talking a lot. Mostly one syllable "ah" words: Ma, Da, Ba, Na. She copied me three times today when I said "Amelia, say "Ba"" She said "Ba" right away. Coincidence or brilliance?
Cheerios have quickly become a favorite food and she can take down a bowlful in minutes. Granted, most of them end up on the floor but she cleans those up when I let her out of her high chair.
She's truly becoming a little person. Her personality is vibrant and assertive (wonder where she gets that), and she is more and more lovable every day!

Cheerio Chair

Now that Amelia can crawl and pull up to standing, she has no excuse to miss fallen Cheerios...

What happens when...

...your parents don't have a video monitor. Poor Amelia was crying for a while when she went down for her evening nap yesterday. I checked on her twice and she was half asleep crying in the middle of her crib so I just let her go. She finally fell asleep and slept for a good half hour. When I went to get her, her right leg was jammed between the mattress and crib, her left arm was stuck under her body and her face was mashed into her blanket. Oops.

First Bike Ride!

After about 45 minutes of Amelia playing on the floor of the garage while I tried to figure out how to hook up the Chariot to my bike, I resorted to coming back inside and finding the owners manual online. :o) This is when I realized I had the connector on backwards. Problem solved. Tires needed air, Amelia needed a bit of convincing about the helmet, and I had to remember how to ride a bike and we were off (just 1 week post surgery!)! Just a short ride around the neighborhood but it was good to have everything hooked up and ready. Once we were going, Amelia was squealing with joy-she loved going fast (this does not happen when I run). Fun times were had by all.

Trying to be better

at posting more often. Here's some highlights from the past few days.

BFFs
We have graduated to the Big Girl carseat.
Daddy feeding Amelia when Mommy couldn't after her appendectomy.
Right after I got home. I'm protecting my abdomen from flailing.
This is why her mobile only has 2 Wallys left.
