14 Weeks! And a song...

Oh, the weather outside is frightful...
but the fire is so delightful
and since we've no place to go
let it snow...
let it snow...
Let it SNOW!!!

Amelia is growing up so fast I can hardly keep up. It seems like I just posted her 3 month pictures but that was 2 weeks ago! Here's a smattering from the recent past...

3 Months!

As usual, I can't believe how fast my little girl is growing. She is three months old today and as cute as ever! Her most recent weight was 12lbs 15oz and LONG. I don't have an exact length but she has outgrown all of our 0-3 month clothes and is fitting comfortably in the 3-6 month gear. Here are her growing pictures!

Amelia interacts with everyone she sees: smiling, gabbing, even laughing occasionally! She loves her burp cloths, always gripping one with both hands and waving it around. Daddy taught her how to play Peek-A-Boo and she is elated whenever anyone takes the time to play with her.

So, giraffes are the "in" thing this year (or maybe they were "in" back in 2010) and wanting to make sure his daughter fits in with all the cool 3-month-olds, Daddy gave Amelia a new giraffe toy for Valentine's Day. Actually, he probably doesn't know that giraffes are "in" and just thought the toy was awesome, which it is. Either way, it's the first thing she has ever reached for on purpose! She's starting to realize that her hands are under her control.

Amelia's routine is becoming more regular with long (often 9 hour!) sleep stretches at night and 3 shorter naps during the day. I am still amazed when I put her to bed and don't hear from her until morning. She now sleeps longer than we do! The problem is that I still need to get up and pump in the middle of the night so I don't explode breastmilk all over our room. It's quite sticky and between the diapers and burp cloths, we don't have time to be washing sheets every day. In a related story, our deep freeze is filling up with frozen milk-lattes anyone?

Another big milestone: on Sunday, during tummy time, Amelia rolled from her front to her back three times in a row! Rob thinks I propped her arms up to make it easier but she still did it. The cloth diaper gives her a nice fulcrum and (of course) we've taught her the physics behind her accomplishment. Unfortunately, she now spends her time contemplating the finer points of torque, gravity, and momentum and couldn't be bothered with the elementary task of rolling over again. Maybe she'll do it again once she goes to college.

Clothes and Friends

After Tea & Psalms this week, Laura and I stayed to sort through the 4 boxes of 3-6 month clothes from the Banana Box Exchange. Anica and Clayton kept our babies occupied.

Go Sox!

Somehow in our early morning, sleep deprived state, Daddy is replaced by Amelia. She always wakes up so happy. You can't quite see the clock but it says 9:22AM...that's my girl!
One of the blizzards of 2011.
This Rhododendron bush is 3 feet tall...really.
Loving her animals!

Amelia loves her Wally Mobile (thanks favorite second cousin Meghan) almost as much as her animals. I put her in her crib and crank up the mobile after changing a poopy diaper so I can go spray it off in the toilet. She's getting used to the routine and now sings along to "Take Me Out To The Ballgame!". We'll have to play this video on the jumbotron in 18 years just before she sings the National Anthem at a Sox-Yankees game. She's quite good, I must say.

Some milestone videos

Tummy time has been a success!

Sitting up, with a little help.

Squealing at her animals. I had to video from behind her because if she sees the camera she stops talking.
