Red Wagon

I found an awesome Red Wagon on Craigslist-just down the street! Amelia loves it. It's got two seats that fold down for the traditional wagon style. I've been looking for one of these to use on Halloween. It kind of goes against my new (loose) policy of not buying plastic junk-but this is quality plastic junk. Speaking of plastic junk-candy corns are on sale!!!

Cheerio-splosion

Auntie Stephie came over the other day and made the mistake of leaving her diaper bag on the floor. Amelia's Cheerio radar went off and she started digging. Once she located the target, she realized it was sealed-but that did not stop her determination to consume 10,000 Cheerios per day. I, unfortunately, didn't capture the whole saga but got some clips of the aftermath:

The Very Hungry Amelia

I thought I'd re-post this here (from Facebook) so it will be forever part of our BabyBookBlog.

For breakfast, she ate yogurt, bananas, muffins, and Cheerios. But she was still hungry.
For snack she ate bananas and Cheerios. But she was still hungry.
For lunch she ate peaches, whole wheat bread, green pepper, and Cheerios. But she was still hungry.
For second snack she ate fresh baked banana bread and Cheerios. But she was still hungry.
For dinner she ate chicken soup, quinoa, carrots, celery, garlic bread, and Cheerios. And then she had a stomach ache.
The next day she ate nothing but breastmilk and felt much better. I hope she doesn't build a little house around herself and stay in there for two weeks!

Melon Face

The last few times I gave Amelia melon she was not very excited about it. This time, she loved it. I think she just likes being able to feed herself.

The Ultra Amazing Awesome Walker

Our friends Wade and Melissa have a one-month-old cutie named Molly. She is not quite walking yet, but they found a wicked cool walker at the second hand store and had to buy it...you know how it is. Anyway, they were gracious enough to let Amelia borrow it until Molly is ready. It's 100000 times better than the one I got and Amelia loves it! She can walk all the way across the room! The other one was too light, although she is getting better at it. This one also comes with 3 sets of blocks and a fun bead toy! Thanks Wade and Melissa. Here's her latest stunt:

Echo

Daddy taught Amelia the concept of sound resonance today:

The Walker

Amelia has been dying to walk for a while now. I caught her pushing one of our kitchen chairs across the floor the other day so I decided to find her a walker. We found this great one at our local second hand store. It converts to a little sit-on scooter! Here's her first attempt at walking with it. It doesn't quite have the resistance of the chair but she's getting it!

Labor Day Biking

We took advantage of the beautiful weather this weekend and went on a little family bike ride Saturday evening. We followed the Greenbelt trail that goes by our old house. Funny unrelated tidbit: the guy who bought our old house has chickens...so we had to ride by and see them. Then we decided we'd continue on down to Bug Light (not to be confused with Bud Light...). It was already Amelia's bedtime and so, unlike at home, she went to sleep in the Chariot as we rode. It was not the smoothest path either but she slept through it all.
The Chariot was attached to my bike but Rob offered to pull her back home (the uphill direction) so we had to do some minor bike mechanics to change over the axle to the Chariot attachment and home we went. I was glad to not pull her back, she's heavy! Plus, it turned into a 12 mile ride and neither of us have exercised in some time...
Fun times were had by all.

A morning nugget

Amelia is 41 Weeks and one day old today. She's now been out in the world as long as she was swimming in amniotic fluid. Love her more every day!
